If you have been following my fitness journey you know I
recently completed 30 days of the Whole30 program followed by 10 days of food
reintroduction...
I completed the 10 day food reintroduction on Friday!
....the purpose of Whole30 is to eliminate foods for 30 days
that are known to cause inflammation in the body. Those foods are then
gradually reintroduced to evaluate how they affect your body!
These are my results...
Legumes: I tested black beans & peanuts with no negative
effects
Grains that do NOT contain gluten: I tested corn & rice with
no negative effects
Dairy: I tested cheese & cottage cheese. This was a
DISASTER!!! I had horrible
stomach pains & upset stomach! I had no idea I was sensitive to dairy! Not
the outcome I was hoping for because I LOVE cheese! I can't say I plan to eliminate dairy
from my diet BUT now I know what to expect when I do decide to eat it.
Grains that DO contain gluten: I tested wheat muffins, pasta,
& wheat crackers. I didn't experience any severe effects BUT these foods
made me feel SO FULL & BLOATED!
I tested beer and I was SHOCKED that I didn't experience
negative effects! I was expecting stomach symptoms but there were no issues!
This has been a real eye opening
experiment! It's interesting to know how these foods affect my body! Now I can
make smart decisions about the foods I choose to eat knowing how they make me
feel!
